I have this science project on something that has to do with electricity and magnetism. So i picked a mag lev train, but i need some easy procedures to do it quickly by Wednesday!!! I’ve got some material:
1.batteries
2.magnets
3.wires
4. coil
and i can afford something close to these stuff
plz tell me tyhe easiest way you know

I know that they say to use an iron core when making an electromagnet because iron doesn’t form a permanent magnet. But, when would happen if wire with flowing electricity where to be placed next to or around an already permanent magnet (made of ceramic). I need this for a science project. Thanks!

I have a science project, and I am making a hamster powered electricity. i got the information on http://www.otherpower.com/hamster.h… It is not exactly the same thing, but I am building the same type of alternator on a hamster’s wheel. I need 5 different type of disk magnets, with the same diameter, thickness, and width. I picked : ceramic(ferric), alnico, ticonal, injection molded, and one of a rare earth magnets. so where should i buy them? im hoping that it would be fairly cheap, and hoping if i can find them in a local store. THANK YOU :]

I’m making a science project on the conservation of energy and I was wondering how I could make a functional turbine that moved by steam power that would turn a magnet and produce electricity. How should I attach the magnet and how do you think I could get the turbine to spin the best using steam?

I am making a science project and for safety, I want to know if a permanent magnet can repel the electrons in a wire. The wire is attached to a 9 volt battery and has a constant flow of electricity. Would putting up a magnet next to this wire cause even a few electrons to break free and be released into the air IF the south pole of the magnet were put next to the wire. A second part of the question is what charge does the north pole of a magnet have? Positive or negative? I know some guy who proved the existence of electrons did something like this but… you know… never paid attention in science class. thanks.

Does electricity have an effect on magnets?
Im doing a science project. That’s why im asking.
