I asked this in the physics section but didn’t get a answer, was hoping someone in this section would know. Thanks.
What is the science behind this, static electricity or more?
I was cleaning my glass table when a tiny feather floated up and stuck to the underside of the glass table (I assume static electricity). I placed my finger on the topside of the glass table the the feather moved away from my finger while still stuck to the underside of the table. I did this several times pushing the feather away using my finger, as if the my finger and the feather were magnets. If never seeen this before. What is the science behind this? Thanks.

I saw some people who can float lite things such as a bit of paper or a ping pong ball, then they say that they control their electrons of their bodies causing static electricity to magnet lite things, when we ask them how they control their electrons they answer : by concentration or "working your body, soul, spirit together" or something like that.
i mean what the hell, is that true????

Well the other day i told my friend that when you put a compass near steel it will screw up and he said only magnets do that then i showed him and it worked then he said: "that’ss because steel has its own magnet in it coz it builds up static electricity" is that correct what he said?
thanks

I need something fun and hands on that has something to do with physics, maybe even something that isn’t the old static electricity or magnets demonstration. Someone mentioned to me paper airplanes but i was thinking of maybe bubbles or something. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I just removed some shirts from the dryer and they had severe static electricity, curiousity got me and I have two powerful magnets well I ran the magnets down the arms, chest and back of the shirts, as well I put one magnet inside the shirt and one on the outside, making them stick and from the neck down I slide the magnets. I also, put the magnets in opposite directions to make the repelle each other on the shirts, Well after that the static was gone. Now I’m interseted as to how that happened. Was It the magnets, The certain Position of the magnets (repelling them from each other on the shirts) Did the magnets even play a role or was it something else i.e me touching the shirts drawing out the static(I doubt because static clothes will stick to a body) did ythe magnets act as a diffuser????? Thank you,, also try it your self and see if it happens to you….
